Azul Brazilian Airlines has expanded its European network with the launch of new cargo routes from Madrid (MAD), supported by its exclusive general sales agent (GSA) in Spain, Global GSA Group.
The new services, along with new flights from Porto (OPO), began on 10 June 2025 and add 13 weekly flights to the airline’s schedule and significantly boost cargo capacity between Europe and Brazil.
Operated with Airbus A330 aircraft, each flight offers approximately 10 tonnes or 60 cubic metres of cargo space.
The expanded schedule includes five weekly flights from Madrid to Viracopos (VCP) and three to Recife (REC), as well as three weekly flights from OPO to VCP and two to REC. These new connections build on Azul Brazilian Airlines’ existing European operations from Lisbon and Paris-Orly.
Aytekin Saray, chief executive of Global GSA Group, said: “This development represents a key milestone in Azul’s international expansion. We are proud to strengthen Azul’s presence in Europe by delivering increased capacity and flexible solutions that benefit freight forwarders across the region.
“Madrid and Porto now join Lisbon and Paris as strategic gateways for South American cargo flows, offering even more seamless access to Brazil’s growing economy.”
