Globe Air Cargo Switzerland wins GSSA deal with Thai Airways

Globe Air Cargo Switzerland, a subsidiary of ECS Group, has been appointed as the exclusive general sales and service agent (GSSA) for Thai Airways in Switzerland, marking a significant expansion of ECS Group’s European cargo operations.

Globe Air Cargo Switzerland, a subsidiary of ECS Group, has been appointed as the exclusive general sales and service agent (GSSA) for Thai Airways in Switzerland, marking a significant expansion of ECS Group’s European cargo operations.

The agreement, which takes effect from August 1, 2025, will see Globe Air Cargo Switzerland managing the national carrier’s cargo capacity on daily widebody flights from Zurich to Bangkok.

Thai Airways will operate Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 aircraft on the route, offering onward connectivity throughout Asia and Australia via its extensive network.

The new contract focuses on the transport of consolidated freight, high-tech goods, and pharmaceutical shipments – sectors that remain critical to the Swiss economy and its global trading partners.

While ECS Group has worked with Thai Airways in several other international markets, this marks the first time the airline’s cargo operations in Switzerland will be managed by Globe Air Cargo Switzerland.

“This partnership with Thai Airways in Switzerland perfectly illustrates our expansion strategy and the trust placed in us by leading global airlines,” said Jean Ceccaldi, chief executive of ECS Group. “It is a major step that reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering tailor-made cargo solutions for every market. We are proud to open this new chapter with Thai Airways and to reinforce our leadership in the Swiss market.”

The move strengthens ECS Group’s growing presence in Europe and aligns with its strategy of offering integrated GSSA services that cater to specialised cargo segments and high-value shipments.
