Shannon Engine Support (SES) has confirmed that Denise Mangan-Fahy will be its next chief executive, starting September 2025.

Mangan-Fahy will succeed Julie Dickerson who is retiring after leading the spare engine leasing solutions business for more than a decade.

Mangan-Fahy has worked in the aerospace industry for 35 years, initially with Shannon Aerospace before joining GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) in 1998 as vice-president engine management, rising to senior vice-president portfolio and rental operations in 2018.

With AerCap’s acquisition of GECAS from GE in 2021, Mangan-Fahy became head of portfolio and rental operations for AerCap Engines.

Mangan-Fahy said: “I would like to thank Julie for her outstanding leadership and dedication in positioning SES as the number one lessor of CFM56 and LEAP engines worldwide. In my new role, I will continue to drive SES’s vision of operational excellence and portfolio growth whilst delivering on our customer requirements.

“I look forward to a seamless transition and to working with the SES team for many years to come.”

SES is jointly owned by AerCap and Safran Aircraft Engines, delivering CFM engines (including the CFM56s and LEAP engines) to airline customers around the globe.

The company says it aims to have 700 engines under management by the end of 2025, and up to 900 by the close of 2028.

Mangan-Fahy and Dickerson were contemporaries from their time at GECAS, which Dickerson joined in 1997. “When I joined, there were around 28 of us, we had a portfolio of 200 engines,” Dickerson said. “Today we have more than 100 employees and a portfolio of over 600 owned and managed engines.

“With Denise’s appointment I know that I am passing on the company to someone who values our people, for it is the long-term relationships that they build and nurture, and their technical skills which have always been the foundation of our success. She is also inheriting a senior leadership team that is second to none and a business that is admired by its peers.”
