Azul partners with Accelya to address booking abuse with BIDT Audit solution

Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras aims to gain greater control and insight into its distribution strategy and revenue management in partnership with Accelya.

The leading Latin American carrier has agreed a partnership with the airline technology specialist to adopt its BIDT Audit solution.

Accelya said this will give the airline more control over its GDS bookings, address distribution inefficiencies, and recover lost revenue.

Azul, which books hundreds of thousands of passengers annually via multiple GDS providers, will use BIDT Audit to improve visibility into booking activity and identify violations that drive unnecessary costs.

The technology has been brought in to allow the airline to address booking abuse challenges that contribute to inventory mismanagement, inflated GDS invoices, and reduced operational efficiency.

André Mercadante, director of alliances, planning and revenue management, at Azul, said: “Partnering with Accelya to implement BIDT Audit is an important step for us as we continue to optimize our GDS operations.

Accelya’s BIDT Audit solution was developed for airlines, like Azul, to enable them to monitor GDS transactions in near real-time, identify discrepancies, and enforce compliance with booking policies.

Auditing capabilities help airlines uncover hidden revenue losses and address policy violations before they impact bottom-line performance.

Accelya said BIDT Audit “goes beyond detection” and plays a key role in enforcing airline policies, providing insights about potential violations, while also equipping airlines with actionable intelligence to make data-driven decisions on GDS costs.
