FL Technics has signed an agreement to acquire JOB AIR Technic, a Czech-based MRO provider, marking a significant expansion of its maintenance capabilities in Central Europe.
The deal, which is subject to closing conditions including regulatory approvals, will give FL Technics access to a 17,000 sqm facility at Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava.
Founded in 1993, JOB AIR Technic was previously part of the Czechoslovak Group (CSG), a Czech industrial and technology conglomerate. The company employs more than 400 specialists and operates two hangars with a total of eight bays, serving both narrowbody and widebody aircraft. Its services include base maintenance, avionics, structural repairs, composite work, emergency equipment servicing, non-destructive testing, and cabin refurbishment.
The MRO provider supports Airbus A320 (including A320neo) and A330 families, as well as Boeing 737 NG and MAX types, and holds certifications from aviation authorities including EASA, FAA, Transport Canada, and Bermuda CAA, allowing it to service a wide range of internationally registered aircraft. It also operates a Part 147 maintenance training centre.
“JOB AIR Technic adds significant capacity to our group network and services portfolio. It enables us to immediately serve our clients with eight fully operational aircraft maintenance bays, eliminating a few years typically required for construction and certification,” said Zilvinas Lapinskas, chief executive of FL Technics.
“This acquisition also introduces us to an established client roster, while the strategic geographical location enables coverage of all Europe, North Africa, and Turkey within a three-four-hour flight radius.”
The acquired facility is located at Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava, the largest regional airport in the Czech Republic. Positioned near the Polish and Slovak borders, the airport is a key hub for both leisure and cargo traffic and features the country’s longest runway. In 2024, it handled more than 22,000 tonnes of cargo and over 493,000 passengers – a 44% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic.
