Airlines and MROs adopt dentCHECK to boost aircraft inspection accuracy
Vueling Airlines, Commercial Jet and Velocity Maintenance Solutions are the latest aviation companies to integrate 8tree’s dentCHECK technology into their maintenance operations, citing improvements in efficiency, accuracy and turnaround times.
Vueling Airlines has adopted the tool to enhance its aircraft surface inspection capabilities, becoming the latest IAG Group carrier to invest in digital innovation within its maintenance operation.
The technology – described as the industry’s only handheld, OEM-approved, AR-powered 3D dent-mapping tool – provides real-time, SRM-compliant damage reports, helping to reduce subjectivity and speed up decision-making.
“At Vueling, we continuously pursue innovative solutions to support our commitment to safety, reliability, and operational excellence,” said Ferran Moret, head of technical services at Vueling. “dentCHECK provides our technicians with real-time, objective data, helping us improve both inspection accuracy and efficiency.”
8tree’s Leonard Buck added: “We are proud to support Vueling’s digital transformation goals and to contribute to the airline’s efforts in modernising its maintenance operations. dentCHECK enables frontline mechanics to inspect damage in seconds, delivering accurate results and driving faster return-to-service decisions.”
Also integrating dentCHECK into its workflow is MRO provider Commercial Jet, which will deploy the tool at its facilities in Miami and Dothan. The company expects the tool to support faster aircraft turnaround times by improving the accuracy and speed of dent inspections.
“Integrating 8tree’s dentCHECK into our workflow allows us to perform dent inspections with unprecedented speed and accuracy, ensuring aircraft return to service faster while maintaining the highest safety standards,” said David M. Sandri, president of Commercial Jet. “This technology is a game-changer in our ability to deliver efficient and reliable maintenance solutions.”
8tree chief executive Arun Chhabra welcomed the development, noting Commercial Jet’s focus on innovation and operational excellence: “By adopting dentCHECK, Commercial Jet is not only enhancing its maintenance efficiency but also reinforcing its reputation as an innovative and forward-thinking MRO provider.”
In business aviation, Velocity Maintenance Solutions has also adopted dentCHECK, further expanding the tool’s user base across both commercial and corporate fleets. Known for its AOG support and transition checks, Velocity Maintenance Solutions sees the tool as critical to improving response times and maintaining service quality.
“dentCHECK is a precision, easy-to-use tool that supports our commitment to delivering fast, accurate, and comprehensive dent mapping and reporting to our clients,” said Mike Baker, president of Velocity Maintenance Solutions. “The tool can be dispatched to any location alongside one of our certified NDT technicians, ensuring rapid response and quick turnaround.”
8tree’s Chhabra added: “Velocity Maintenance Solutions’ expertise in high-pressure scenarios like AOG support and ownership transitions makes them an ideal operator of our technology. We look forward to supporting their continued commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.”
