Canada’s Porter Airlines has become the first carrier in the Americas to adopt both flydocs’ Lifecycle Asset Management (LAM) and Digital Records Management (DRM) solutions. The solutions will be used across the airline’s 75-strong fleet.

The integrated platforms will provide real-time visibility of aircraft assets, helping Porter Airlines to meet lease return conditions, align asset management with engineering priorities, and make data-driven decisions on maintenance planning, cost avoidance, and risk reduction during aircraft transitions. Predictive analytics and scenario modelling will further support these processes.

The implementation will be carried out in collaboration with AMOS, the maintenance and engineering software from Swiss Aviation-Software Ltd., enabling seamless interoperability between the two platforms.

The integration will allow Porter Airlines to maintain digital aircraft compliance on demand while adopting a fully paperless approach to records and asset management.

Andy Smith, chief commercial officer at flydocs, said: “Porter’s priorities have been clear: reduce manual effort, harness more reliable data, improve compliance, minimise redelivery risk, and streamline maintenance processes to protect revenue. Our DRM and LAM solutions deliver on all of this and more. This win isn’t just about a single deal; it’s about unlocking even greater value through the Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem. Together, we’ll empower Porter to make smarter decisions and see real business impact from day one, laying the foundation for a strong, long-term partnership.”

Brad Warren, vice president of maintenance and engineering at Porter Airlines, said: “As we continue to grow our network and fleet, we are also advancing our systems and processes to support the operation and our team members. We are confident that flydocs’ commitment to market-leading dedicated records management solutions will boost our digital capabilities. Being their first LAM solution user in the Americas is certainly exciting for us in transforming our approach to asset management across the aircraft lifecycle.”

Aircraft and engine aftermarket solutions provider, AerFin, has completed the sale of a second CFM56-5B engine from the A320ceo family to Japanese investor Keiyo Gas Energy Solution Co., Ltd. (KGES), marking further progress in the company’s expansion into Japan’s aviation investment market.

The transaction was advised by BeYoke Capital, a specialist in aircraft structured finance, and forms part of a commercial partnership rather than a straightforward lease deal. Under a lease-to-part-out with consignment structure, AerFin and KGES will share in the upside potential of the asset.

This latest sale follows AerFin’s first transaction into Japan last year, signalling growing trust and cooperation with the country’s aviation investment community.

Simon Goodson, AerFin’s chief executive, said: “Completing a second engine sale into Japan is a clear sign of the trust and momentum we’re building in this critically important market. It underlines both the quality of our assets and the strength of the relationships we’re developing with Japanese investors. We’re grateful to BeYoke for their continued support and expertise in helping us grow in this market.

“This milestone aligns with our broader commitment to the Asia Pacific region, following the opening of our Singapore office and the growth of our multi-lingual team who are focused on deepening partnerships across the region.”

Rion Sato, chief executive of BeYoke Capital, added: “We’re delighted to have advised KGES and AerFin on this transaction. It’s encouraging to see the continued confidence of Japanese investors in aviation assets, and we’re eager to help cultivate further opportunities in this space for the broader Japanese investment community.”

Menzies Aviation has announced it will provide ground handling, air cargo and fuelling services at Mosul International Airport in Iraq under a 10-year licence secured by its joint venture with Iraqi Airways, Air BP and Al-Burhan Group.

The MASIL joint venture, which already operates at Baghdad International Airport, recently handled the presidential flight marking Mosul International Airport’s official reopening. The event, attended by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani, signalled the airport’s return to service after being closed since 2014.

Extensively reconstructed, Mosul International Airport now features a main terminal, VIP lounge and advanced radar surveillance. Once fully operational in the coming months, it will serve domestic and international routes, with capacity for around 630,000 passengers a year.

Charles Wyley, executive vice president for the Middle East, Africa and Asia at Menzies Aviation, said: “This is a major step in our journey to support the redevelopment of Iraq’s aviation sector and bring world-class standards to the country’s airports. Handling the presidential flight was a privilege and a clear signal of MASIL’s professionalism and reliability as a trusted service provider.”

Menzies Aviation and Iraqi Airways formed MASIL in 2021 to deliver ground handling, cargo and fuelling services at key Iraqi airports, with Mosul International Airport’s addition strengthening its role in modernising the country’s aviation infrastructure.

US-based design consultancy, Geniant, has acquired NewTerritory, a UK-based design and brand experience studio founded by former Head of Design for Virgin Atlantic and LG Europe.

The London-based team has gained recognition through projects for clients that include Delta Air Lines, LATAM, Airbus and Coca-Cola.

This move accelerates Geniant’s global growth strategy and increases the number of customer ‘touchpoints’ that the combined organisations can now address.

READ: LATAM hires design studio NewTerritory for branding redesign

“As more companies accept that the quality of their customer and employee experiences are key to marketplace success, the real challenge becomes identifying which moments to optimise first – and understanding why they matter,” said David Lancashire, Geniant’s Chairman & Co-CEO. “NewTerritory’s expertise in uncovering and shaping those Signature Moments that leave a lasting impression is a powerful addition to geniant’s capabilities, strengthening our ability to guide companies toward what truly drives loyalty and impact.”

Commenting on the deal announcement, Luke Miles, Founder of NewTerritory, said: “Organisations face growing pressure to create distinctive, memorable experiences but often turn to partners unable to deliver at the intersection of creative vision, strategic insights and AI. What drew us to geniant was not just their mastery of these critical capabilities, but a shared belief that the current approach is broken, and that together we can help reimagine better workflows and experiences and actually bring them to life.”

Aerospace manufacturing start-up Jeh Aerospace has completed an $11 million Series A funding round.

The new investment comes just 18 months after the Atlanta and India co-located software developer secured seed round funding.

The latest funding round was led by Elevation Capital with participation from existing investor General Catalyst.

Watch and listen to ABN’s edition of ABNcast featuring JEH c0-founder Vishal Sandhavi recorded before the Series A finding round earlier this year

This year, Jeh Aerospace also attracted a strategic investment from IndiGo Ventures, the venture capital arm of India’s largest airline.

Since its seed round seed round, Jeh Aerospace says it has grown to over 100 staff, delivered more than 100,000 flight-critical components and tools, and secured $100 million in long-term contracts with global aerospace leaders.

The firm says it “is building world-class precision manufacturing powered by software-defined manufacturing”.

It develops advanced software solutions that support manufacturers to adopt automation and Artificial Intelligence to meet the aerospace sector’s most critical supply chain demands.

Vishal R Sanghavi, co-founder and chief executive, said: “We are redefining aerospace manufacturing with software-driven precision, ensuring that high-quality parts are delivered reliably and on time.

“This funding from Elevation Capital and General Catalyst will allow us to build mega factories and enhance our technology while continuing to deliver exceptional value to our global customers.”

Jeh Aerospace said it is “building resilience in aerospace manufacturing by focusing on talent and technology”.

Earlier this year, it launched its Center for Skills, an in-house training program to develop engineers and technicians.

The firm’s speed shop Center for Resilience claims to have improved lead times for new product introduction that are ten times faster than traditional aerospace machine shops.

Ashray Iyengar, principal at Elevation Capital, said: “Jeh has demonstrated exceptional execution and built a truly differentiated approach to aerospace manufacturing.

“Their software-defined manufacturing model addresses a fundamental challenge in the industry – the need for both precision and agility in production.

“What impresses us most is their ability to combine cutting-edge technology with deep manufacturing expertise, creating a solution that the global aerospace supply chain desperately needs. We’re excited to partner with

“Vishal and Venky as they set new standards for how aerospace components are made.”

Akarsh Shrivastava, Partner at global investment and transformation company General Catalyst, added:

“Jeh Aerospace exemplifies the Global Resilience opportunity we’re investing in: companies that strengthen critical supply chains through responsible innovation.

“Their software-defined manufacturing approach and proven delivery demonstrate the scalable, reliable production the aerospace industry needs.

“By harnessing exceptional engineering talent with proximity to US markets, Jeh is reshaping aerospace manufacturing and helping to set new global standards for excellence.

Vishal and Venky have built a stellar team and a strong customer-first culture over the past 18 months, and we are excited about what lies ahead for Jeh.”

With operations in the US and India, Jeh Aerospace leverages friend-shoring to combine access to the US market with India’s skilled talent pool.

The company says it plans to expand its presence and operations in both regions to serve global customers.

IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group (IAG), has reported first-half 2025 revenues of €629 million, marking an 11.1% increase year-on-year, as the business continues to show resilience in a dynamic air cargo market.

Volumes rose by 4.5%, while yields increased 6.4% compared with the first half of 2024 – performance which chief executive David Shepherd attributes to customer trust and continued investment in operational and digital transformation.

“Following the strong growth we achieved in 2024, this performance reflects the trust our customers place in IAG Cargo to deliver reliably, even as global supply chains remain under pressure,” said Shepherd. “We have continued to invest in areas that drive long-term value, improving operational performance, modernising key processes, and building a business that is more agile, predictable and responsive to customer needs.”

Digital transformation gains momentum

IAG Cargo’s transformation programme is delivering tangible improvements across its global network. Enhancements include real-time cargo tracking, predictive analytics, and more advanced self-service and pricing tools – all of which support faster, more reliable service delivery and streamlined decision-making.

“We are seeing real momentum from our focus on operational excellence and accelerating our digital offering,” said Shepherd. “It is enabling us to serve our customers better, drive efficiency and move at the pace the market demands.”

Latin America leads growth

One of the strongest contributors to IAG Cargo’s H1 performance was the Latin America-Europe corridor, with tonnage up 19.3% year-on-year. The route’s growth, driven particularly by demand in the perishables sector, underscores the strength of IAG Cargo’s network strategy and customer offering.

The company also reported a 30.5% year-on-year rise in shipments of its Critical product, which caters to high-priority, time-sensitive freight – a further sign of IAG Cargo’s growing reputation for reliability in the premium logistics space.

Partnership with Qatar Airways Cargo and MASkargo

Looking ahead, IAG Cargo continues to prepare for the formal launch of its Global Cargo Joint Business with Qatar Airways Cargo and MASkargo, expected in late 2025 pending regulatory approval.

“This partnership opens a world of new possibilities for our customers,” Shepherd said. “By combining our networks, we will be able to offer greater routing flexibility and expanded capacity across key trade lanes connecting Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, the Indian Subcontinent, and the Americas.”

In support of global humanitarian efforts, the three carriers have pledged to provide a combined 1,000 tonnes of cargo capacity to the United Nations World Food Programme.

ANA Holding, the Japanese holding company that owns and manages the ANA Group, has officially acquired Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) through a simplified share exchange with Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha, reinforcing its cargo strategy and global market presence.

The deal, which sees NCA become a wholly owned subsidiary of ANA Holdings, integrates NCA’s dedicated freighter fleet with ANA Group’s existing passenger and cargo network. The move expands the group’s capacity between Japan and key global markets including Asia, Europe and the US.

ANA Group currently operates six Boeing 767 freighters and two Boeing 777 freighters, while NCA brings eight Boeing 747-8 freighters into the fleet. Together, the combined operation is set to make ANA Group the world’s 14th largest airline group by freight capacity.

Koji Shibata, president and chief executive of ANA Holdings, said: “The strategic integration of NCA’s freighter network and specialised cargo expertise with the ANA Group’s existing infrastructure will greatly improve our capability to serve our customers’ needs. We are committed to leveraging this expanded capacity and combined knowledge to deliver exceptional value in our cargo transport solutions globally.”

The acquisition is expected to enhance ANA Group’s services in mass transportation and special cargo, including temperature-sensitive and high-value shipments. It also strengthens the group’s ability to support customers’ evolving supply chain needs with more competitive and resilient logistics offerings.

ANA Holdings anticipates improved profitability and reduced exposure to market volatility through the expanded cargo operation. The company also expects further long-term gains as Narita Airport, a key cargo hub, prepares for runway expansion and increased flight capacity.

The financial results of NCA will be consolidated into ANA Holdings’ accounts from the second quarter of the 2025 fiscal year.
