Qatar Airways Cargo has announced the expansion of its cutting-edge AI Digital Human, Sama, into the cargo sector, aiming to revolutionise the customer experience in air freight.

Initially launched as a virtual assistant for passenger services, Sama helped travellers with bookings, enquiries, and real-time support. Her AI-driven capabilities have redefined digital interactions for Qatar Airways customers.

Now, the airline is extending Sama’s role to cargo operations. She will assist freight clients with bookings, shipment tracking, and queries related to air cargo services. The move is expected to streamline the booking process and boost service efficiency for logistics and shipping customers.

Qatar Airways says this development marks a significant step forward in integrating AI into its cargo services, aligning with the airline’s broader strategy to lead digital innovation in aviation.

Mark Drusch, chief officer cargo at Qatar Airways Cargo, said: “By expanding Sama’s role into the cargo sector, we are reinforcing our commitment to innovation and excellence across all areas of Qatar Airways.

“Sama not only enhances the passenger experience but will now play a crucial role in facilitating seamless cargo operations. Our goal is to ensure that our clients receive the same high level of service in cargo as they do with our passenger offerings.”
