Air Canada is expanding its Latin American network for winter 2025-2026 with a focus not only on leisure travel but also cargo connectivity, as it resumes and launches routes aimed at strengthening trade flows between Canada and South and Central America.

The airline will restart non-stop flights to Lima, Peru from both Montreal and Toronto with a twice-weekly service. In addition, three new routes will connect Montreal to Belize, Toronto to Puerto Escondido, and Vancouver to Tepic in Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit.

Mark Galardo, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, and president, cargo at Air Canada, said the latest expansion is aligned with the carrier’s ‘New Frontiers Strategy’ and targets both passengers and cargo growth.

“Our new flights are designed to provide easy connections for both Canadian and European travellers, as well as to take advantage of cargo opportunities in the region,” Galardo said.

The added frequencies and new destinations will enable Air Canada Cargo to offer more direct lift in key perishable and general freight corridors – particularly out of Peru and Central America, which are significant producers of fresh produce and seafood.
