Leadership shift at WestJet as Ierfino leads sales and cargo integration
WestJet has appointed Amanda Ierfino as vice president for sales and cargo, effective June 1, 2025, in a move that signals a more integrated B2B strategy for the Canadian carrier.
The appointment marks a key leadership development as WestJet sharpens its commercial focus, aligns sales and cargo functions, and prepares to evolve its freight operations.
Ierfino, who has played a central role in shaping WestJet’s corporate and agency sales strategy, will now oversee the airline’s cargo division in addition to leading the sales team.
“Our partnerships have always been an essential part of WestJet’s success,” said Ierfino. “Both our Sales and Cargo teams are united by a strong commitment to supporting our valued partners, and that focus will remain at the core of everything we do. I’m excited to lead this next chapter with an emphasis on partnership, new opportunities and shared growth.”
The leadership consolidation comes as WestJet prepares to phase out dedicated freighter operations later this year. Going forward, the carrier will concentrate on maximising the potential of its belly-hold capacity across its passenger network.
By bringing sales and cargo under a single leadership structure, WestJet aims to drive operational efficiency, enhance service delivery, and create new growth opportunities through strengthened partner collaboration.
The airline noted that the move reflects its long-term strategy to build a more unified and agile commercial team with a shared focus on delivering value and expanding its market footprint.
