LATAM Group is significantly enhancing its air freight connectivity between South America and the US West Coast with a strategic expansion of flower cargo services to Los Angeles (LAX).

Starting in July 2025, LATAM Group’s cargo affiliates will operate up to five weekly flights on this route – a 66% increase in capacity compared with current operations.

From July 1, the Quito–Los Angeles route increased from three to four weekly services, while from July 13 it is introducing a new weekly cargo flight from Bogotá to Los Angeles. These enhancements are set to strengthen flower exports from Colombia and Ecuador to one of the main US destinations for South American floriculture.

“This expansion of our cargo network reflects LATAM Group’s long-term commitment to the floriculture sector in Colombia and Ecuador. We are proud to support our cargo customers with flexible solutions tailored to their needs. Strengthening this key route adds over 100 tonnes of additional cargo capacity to the US West Coast and reaffirms LATAM’s commitment to the region,” said Santiago Alvarez, chief commercial officer of LATAM Cargo Group.

With a dedicated freighter fleet and a logistics operation built to support the high demands of the flower industry year-round, LATAM continues to consolidate its leadership in transporting perishables from South America to North America. The expanded service provides Colombian and Ecuadorian growers with improved access to international markets, particularly the high-demand California region.
