Barcelona-based Vueling has marked a milestone by flying its 15 millionth passenger at London Gatwick.
Since establishing a base at Gatwick in 2013, Vueling, part of the IAG group, has operated close to 100,000 flights from and to London Gatwick and is the leading airline between London and Barcelona, as well as the second largest operator between London and Spain.
Vueling, as part of the IAG group, works closely with sister airline British Airways, offering codeshare agreements on all its routes from London Gatwick.
Jordi Pla, Chief Network and Strategy Officer at Vueling, said: “We’re proud to celebrate our 15 millionth customer at London Gatwick, a key airport in our network and a gateway between the UK and Spain. This milestone reflects the strong demand and trust we’ve built with our customers over the years, and we look forward to continuing to offer competitive travel options for passengers travelling to and from the UK.”
Jonathan Pollard, Chief Commercial Officer, London Gatwick said: “Vueling’s multiple routes from London Gatwick have been incredibly popular with passengers over a number of years, providing a great breadth of choice and competition to fantastic destinations.”
On top of that, Vueling has also continued expanding its network within the UK and recently introduced two new routes from London Heathrow to Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela, as well as the Paris-Orly and Barcelona route launched in 2024.
Vueling also offers flights from Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham, and Edinburgh to popular destinations in Spain, reinforcing its role in connecting different regions of the UK with Spain and bringing people from both countries closer together.
